Suction, Over Door or Tension Pole Corner Shower Caddy, From Zenith, Simplehuman, Oxo Good Grips, Smedbo and others
If you have a shower cubicle, or separate shower area in the bathroom, then for practical reasons it is convenient to have some sort of shower caddy to keep things handy. After all, you really don’t want to have to keep leaving that gorgeous shower to go and find some soap, and then some shampoo, or other showering essential. Having a shower should be a time of relaxation and pleasure, so having everything prearranged and ready is something to be desired.
One of the best types of caddies to have in the shower is a corner shower caddy. This is a neat way of storing your shower essentials, and makes best use of the space. If you have a small bathroom, that is especially important. But which type do you choose?
There are four basic types of shower caddy that are commonly available. An over door caddy is an alternative to a corner caddy, which makes best use of wasted door space, but may not look so neat or attractive. A corner shower caddy can be either a tension pole or suction type, or freestanding. Prices can vary from a very cheap $8-9 for a clear corner caddy from Creative Bath Products, and over $6 for Zenith Products corner shower shelves, up to $50 for a stainless steel tension pole corner caddy from Get Organized and $60 for a Simplehuman aluminum caddy.
If you like chrome, as many people do in their bathrooms, Zenith Bathstyles have a brushed chrome tension pole shower caddy at a mid range price of about $40. If you really want to move up market a bit, Smedbo, Inc has a range of shower and bathroom baskets and caddies in brushed nickel. The Smedbo basic corner soap basket costs about $125. For the average homeowner, though, you can normally expect to get a good, modern looking corner shower caddy for under $50.
The Zenith tension pole caddy is a good medium option worth looking at, or for something that bit different a Simplehuman aluminum caddy, may be worth the extra, depending on your tastes and existing bathroom décor. When you look around, bear in mind that if you have a tight budget, you can find something of practical use in the shower for less than $10.
